【传统文化二十四节气】春分
VIENTIANE, July 29 (Xinhua) -- The "New Perspective: China-Laos Young Artists Exchange Exhibition" has opened in Lao capital Vientiane with over 100 guests from the cultural and tourism sectors of both countries attending the opening ceremony.
Co-organized by the China Cultural Center in Laos and the China Center of International Cultural Exchange and Tourism Promotion, the exhibition showcases 48 artworks by emerging Chinese and Lao artists, including 13 new pieces by Chinese artists inspired by their travels in Laos, as well as six standout works by Lao artists.
The showcase reflects Chinese artists' appreciation of Lao culture, while providing a platform for Lao artists to share their stories with Chinese audiences.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Sunday, Khamsouk Keovongxay, director general of the Lao National Institute of Fine Arts, praised the exhibition for strengthening cultural ties under the Belt and Road Initiative and fostering deeper mutual understanding between artists from both nations.
During the event, Chinese artists presented two symbolic paintings to Lao representatives, including "Kuang si After the Rain," capturing the serene beauty of Kuang si Waterfall, and "Journey of the Snake and Elephant," representing cultural harmony between the two countries.
The exhibition will run through Aug. 15.
